A big thank you to my good friend Tania for requesting a painting for her San Diego home. After years of distraction of managing a business, I finally took some time to pick up a brush. Not knowing what I was going to paint at first, I started with a color wash. The palms came easily as there is always a shady palm grove in the back of my mind. I used silver for the highlights, interesting how they seem to move when viewed at different angles, or different times of day. Graceful and a little rugged, as the sunlight flickers through the fronds, there is always that one slender leaf dancing in a mysterious gust of wind... sigh.
